Company CEO Graham Foley said recently, “We’ve serviced our clients in Tasmania and Victoria from our other branches over a number of years, and now is the time to be fair dinkum and make those services even more accessible. Our business model across the country is based on finding the best possible staff and expertise and placing them as close as we can to the local industry.”
The Greenworks team know what they’re talking about as far as sustainable resource management; the Jones family, who are behind the broader business, have been operating in and around irrigation water and horticulture since the early 1970’s.
Being a family business with a corporate mindset creates a unique opportunity for local growers to experience the company’s blend of great customer service, the latest technologies and sensible pricing.
Local staff with great experience – Tasmania
Launceston Branch Manager Douglas Smith is an accomplished irrigation engineer and designer with a real passion for advanced but practical solutions on-farm. He has worked extensively in agriculture, but also in mining, water treatment and water transfer environments.
Douglas is ably assisted by Paul Egginton, whose maintenance and service role is a natural extension of his long history of hands-on farming and technical experience. Douglas says, “We’re really excited to be able to bring in-house design and integration services to the Tasmanian market. Seeing and understanding the project, the growers’ priorities and the local conditions are the key to putting a great solution together that works really well on-farm”.
Local staff with great experience – Melbourne
To service the unprecedented demand for protected cropping support, Greenworks are tripling the staff around Melbourne. In addition to David Franklin, your existing Greenworks Southern Territory Manager, you will now also have Edgar and Max on hand to provide solutions for your greenhouse ideas.
Edgar Lopez has come all the way from Mexico with his young family to join the team. Edgar’s skills as an Electrical and Mechanical Engineer, along with his sound experience with Priva control and automation will be a valuable resource for the Victorian, South Australian and Tasmanian markets. Edgars previous roles include for Project and Development Engineer with Hortimax and Electrical and Mechanical Engineer with Stolze.
Max Horvath, whom many of you have known and respected for decades, knows first-hand what it takes to be an Australian greenhouse grower like you. Max grew hydroponic vine crops and leafy greens in Queensland for large supermarkets and local farmers markets. He has represented growers on the board of Bundaberg F&V (BF&V) and bodies such as AusVeg, on their Protected Cropping Working Group. He is also a qualified mechanical engineer and can dismantle and rebuild a climate controller, solar system, irrigation pump and more. Max understands Australian greenhouse growers and their needs and solutions.
With staff, warehouses, equipment and spare parts located permanently in five states across the country, the Greenworks team are now more capable than ever to provide you with effective support.
Be sure to talk to your local Greenworks professional about your growing business and the challenges you face. They’ll work hard to come up with the best solution.
